Ultraviolet Sterilization

Hydro Ultrafilters
The Ultimate in Filtration Technology

Performance

  • Membranes constructed of polysulfone or thin-film.
  • Maximum system pressure: 100 PSI
  • Wide range of capacity and pore size
  • Ideal for post-deionization filtration

Description

  • System constructed entirely of inert plastics to prevent contaminant leaching
  • PVDF pressure vessels
  • PVDF or polypropylene piping
  • Polysulfone, spiral wound UF membranes, which are non-degradable and cleaner in design
  • Isolation valves for easy servicing
  • Diaphragm back pressure control valve for non- particulating flow control
  • Available Auto-Flush option

Laboratory Uses:

Ideal for final treatment of deionized water for use in microelectronics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other critical application areas.

Many of today's high-tech water users with large volume needs face serious problems in meeting requirements for high purity. You can solve these problems by utilizing Hydro's line pressure ultrafilters rather than traditional methods such as cartridge filters and various media filters.

Hydro's membrane process finishes purified water containing macromolecules or colloidal suspensions. Macro molecules and particles larger than approximately 0.01 microns are rejected. A continuous cross-flow of water prevents particulate buildup and increases both efficiency and effective ultrafilter life. The result is particle-free, bacteria-free, and pyrogen-free water.

Other significant results from using Hydro ultrafilters include lower setup and operational costs, easier maintenance and higher efficiency.

Ultraviolet Sterilizers
For Sterile Water Production or TOC Reduction

Standard Features

  • 316L electro-polished and passivated stainless steel chamber to prevent corrosion and ensure water purity
  • Pure quartz jacket for protection of the high intensity lamp
  • An electrical ballast for lamp operation

The ultraviolet sterilizer system is designed to provide sterilization of ultrapure water without harsh chemicals or intense heat. The system consists of an electro-polished and passivated 316L stainless steel chamber to ensure purity and a pure quartz jacket to protect the high intensity ultraviolet lamp. This ultraviolet lamp provides greater than 30,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter of 254 nanometer ultraviolet radiation. Most water-borne pathogens are destroyed with less than 10,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter. This guarantees most microorganisms, which can affect research quality water will be destroyed. The results is pure, bacteria-free water.

Optional Equipment

  • Manual or automatic wipers for cleaning quartz jacket
  • UV intensity monitors
  • High Intensity Lamps
  • Custom Controls
  • Lamps are also available in 185 nm wavelength for oxidation of trace organic contaminants

Portable Ozonation Skid

For Sanitizing Storage Tanks and Distribution Piping Systems.

Standard Features

  • Mounted on convertible hand truck
  • Stainless steel recirculation pump
  • Air dryer canister
  • Moisture indicator
  • Air flow meter
  • Ozone Generator

The portable ozonation skid is used for sanitizing storage tanks and distribution piping systems. The skid is used to generate a disinfection dosage of ozone (0.1 to 0.2 ppm) in a storage tank. The ozonated water can be pumped through the distribution piping system to kill bacteria and remove bacterial biofilm.
Ozone produces very strong oxidizers in water called hydroxyl free radicals, which kill bacteria, by cellular lyses (rupturing) of the cell wall in a matter of seconds. These strong oxidizing agents chemically attack and degrade organics including polysaccharides. Ozone in water is very unstable and rapidly degrades to oxygen. The half-life of ozone in water is about 25 minutes at 20 degrees C°.

Available in 2 Sizes

  • 5 GPM - 1,000 Gallon Capacity
  • 15 GPM - 3,000 Gallon Capacity
