The Picopure® UV Plus combines 254 nm UV (ultraviolet) technology and ultrafiltration in the faucet, 185 nm UV in the system recirculation and the quality performance of the Picosystem® to produce sterile, depyrogenated, low TOC, ASTM and CAP Type I Reagent Grade Water for critical laboratory applications. Ultrapure water is dispensed from the electropolished stainless steel spout connected directly to the UV chamber. The chassis for all Hydro point-of-use (POU) systems is the Picosystem®, which contains a highly activated carbon media for chlorine/chloramine removal and TOC reduction, and quality pharma-grade mixed-bed resins for deionization. “Plus” means the system is recirculated. Recirculation and the 185 nm UV lowers TOC’s to <5 ppb and allows a choice between the Picopure® 2 faucet or the optional Picopure® 3 faucet with resistivity monitor.
